IoT Solutions for Smart Cities

A perfect city, what is it like? We at Tibbo Systems have thought and decided to describe a smart city based on AggreGate IoT Platform. So, let’s start with the transportation system.

Smart Transportation System

The first trouble of any city is heavy traffic, which makes you face the following tasks: traffic control, municipal/public transportation and parking management.

In a digital city, traffic is controlled intelligently on the basis of the near-real-time traffic density, road conditions are monitored and photo and video fixation of the traffic laws violations take place. And the whole traffic control system is integrated with the emergency services, of course.

Public transport location is tracked online, its routes are optimized and overcrowding is prevented. Fleet condition is monitored and all the vehicles are integrated with the payment services for passengers' convenience.

Dynamic route planning, fleet condition monitoring, rescue vehicle shuttling optimization and much more allow to efficiently manage municipal transportation.

There is parking slot availability monitoring for the car owners via a special parking command and control center with predictive analytics on the parking congestion. Informing and parking slot reservation is made online. The parking is also integrated with car/bike sharing and rental services.

Efficient Resource Consumption

Needless to say, how important it is to control energy and prevent its overexpenditure. That’s why in the AggreGate-based smart city street lighting is regulated not just automatically but also depending on the crowd density and weather conditions.

Energy consumption optimization is complemented by intelligent waste management based on sensor grid management technologies for tracking trash container filling level.

In a smart city, both the current overall picture of the environmental situation and the future state within a few hours are modeled. This is achieved by analyzing the number of suspended particles in the air, gas and noise levels, wind strength and etc.

Nowadays every building has a variety of meters. Each of them is used only for personal account settlements with utility companies. In a digital city, mutual settlements are simplified by centralized city-wide data processing. Resources are planned and consumption is optimized.

Building Automation

The intelligent building control center ensures management for HVAC, lighting, access control and network infrastructure.

All sensors or subsystems talk to one another and give a detailed picture of a building condition. Moreover, data collection and analysis allows making predictions for resource consumption optimization and emergency situation avoidance.

And many others...

Such city systems as wastewater processing and storm drains, telemedicine and telehealth, digital signage system and state-owned IT infrastructure components are fully automated in AggreGate-based smart city. And that's far from the limit.
