Network Topology Discovery Enhancements

New release of AggreGate Network Manager features improved L2 network discovery algorithm that relies on Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) and Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP). Those protocols enable accurate detection of switch-to-switch and switch-to-router connections, as well as connections between switches and other network devices. Topology visualization module has been also extended to support new tree and balloon layouts:

Better SVG Rendering Performance

We’ve dramatically improved performance of the Vector Drawing component used for SVG vector graphics visualization in widgets. Now a vector image has an Animated attribute. When the attribute is disabled (by default), the component is fully redrawn as soon as SVG parameters change, while built-in SVG animation is blocked. When it’s enabled, the component dynamically updates the image segments if SVG parameters change, whereas supports integrated SVG animation.

Animation attribute creates additional system load, thus enable this attribute only if you need build-in SVG animation or when your image is slow responding to SVG changes. Disabled animation increases widget loading speed with plenty of vector images, for example, pipeline HMIs. Contact us with any questions.

Presentation of AggreGate Platform for MOESK JSC

Tibbo engineers jointly with Unitel CJSC have given an AggreGate Platform presentation for MOESK JSC. Being one of the largest electric grid operators in Russia, MOESK specializes in rendering electric power transmission service and connecting consumers to the Moscow region grid.

AggreGate Network Manager was selected as a potentially suitable monitoring tool for communication equipment and its power supply systems at MOESK JSC electric substations. Wide AggreGate Platform capabilities allow achieving the main project objective by increasing the communication system reliability through efficient power options control and minimizing troubleshooting and accident management time.

New Case Study: Comprehensive Monitoring of Industrial-grade UPS Units

Tibbo engineers have successfully designed and implemented a comprehensive monitoring system for enterprise communication equipment of United Energy Company JSC. Being one of the largest electric grid operators of Moscow, United Energy specializes in development, operation and reconstruction of the city’s power networks.

The main objective of the project was improving the maintenance service efficiency and communication engineers work as well as increasing the communications system reliability.

Therefore, the following subtasks were set: design of a control system for uninterruptible power systems, supervision over UPS parameters at remote sites, decrease of power supply system incident response time, reduction of disaster recovery time etc.

To achieve the objectives, Tibbo AggreGate Network Manager was selected. It allows staff to track the general state of the power system and per-unit real-time details. In addition to UPS monitoring, the system tracks the monitoring server itself as well as network equipment.

New power setting control tools based on Tibbo AggreGate intelligent platform make it possible to monitor and resolve problems at communication sites. In many cases they also help to solve a problem before it arises. View case study

Advanced Video Streaming Support

Run widget

AggreGate video player now supports more formats and codecs, including RTSP protocol, all codecs based on FFmpeg library and H.264 protocol which provides better picture quality through the use of more sophisticated stream encoding schemes. Thus, a user can now connect to almost any video camera or video server and even play local video files. This greatly enhances AggreGate’s feasibility for integrated physical security control systems and umbrella building management systems.

Welcome a New Release of AggreGate Device Management Platform!

AggreGate 5.1 The feature list of AggreGate 5.1 may not seem too long, but it includes one major achievement that makes it clear how our R&D team spent 2014 - a production version of Web Desktop, a long-awaited HTML5-based web interface complementing the existing Java-based browser interface!

Good news is that Web Desktop doesn't require Java to be installed on operator machines, effectively allowing everyday monitoring and management activities to be performed from Android and iOS tablets and smartphones, as well as most other mobile devices.

Moreover, AggreGate Web Desktop does not limit operator activities in any sense, even allowing them to use maps, plans, forms, HMIs and other interfaces that were designed in AggreGate UI Builder.

Mind that the platform's data acquisition layer is now enhanced by many new device drivers that include OPC UA, DNP3, MeterBus, SOAP, CORBA, SIP, VMware API, Asterisk Manager Interface, generic GPS/GLONASS Tracker driver, and more.

Not to mention other major improvements, including user permission inheritance, authentication via Active Directory or LDAP, generic API for time series data aggregation, management of external database tables, support for Virtual Device Networks, and more.
